Butter and Salt

Butter and Salt.

This is the post where I tell you about my two younger cousins who have taught me so much about having faith.

Butter

Though you are four years younger than I, in many ways, I feel that you are wise beyond your age. Every time I am able to converse with you, you lighten up my mood. Whether it be with your (fine, I’ll admit it) sometimes funny jokes and puns, or the way you are always willing to listen to what I have to say. You are as soft as butter, and you can literally pair well with everything and anything.

Salt

In a way, I am upset at myself for not being there for you more growing up, but no need to look into the past. It is now the present, and if we do not like something, there is always room for change and improvement. Hi, little one (or not so little because you are actually taller than me)! My favorite quality about you is that you never give up, and you are so smart. I loved hearing your personal testimony on the day you got baptised. It moved my heart and softened it, which in turn gave me the ability to trust in God.  You are also young but God is working in your life constantly. Hold on to that faith, for it will continue to take you far. You are salt because you bring out the best flavor in all things.

I love you both so much. Thank you for being the two special cousins that I need in my life, I’m ecstatic to see what our relationships come to in the future.

Love,

B. T. B
